Grandma Jones & Lincoln

We had a fun Halloween even though we did not go Trick or Treating. We all got dressed up Talan was a Puppy, Lincoln a Giraffe, Jason a basketball player and I was a Football player. We had fun going to Grandma and Grandpa Jones Trick or Treating. Talan got a new car and Lincoln a rattle. I asked Talan what he would do it Grandma and Grandpa asked his to do a trick, he told me he would do a dog trick like sit, bark or play dead. After visiting Gma and Gpa we came home and Grandma, Grandpa Christensen and Jenny came over. We had fun visiting with them and Talan played with his glowing ball that they brought over. A few minutes later Talan came running into the family room in a panic. He was almost in tears and announced to everyone that kids were on our porch taking our treats. We all had a good laugh over that. Since I am paranoid about getting the Swine Flu and bring it home to Lincoln, this year we just sat a bowl of candy out on the front porch with a sign wishing everyone a Happy Halloween and just to take a piece of candy. After all the visitors went home we spent the rest of the night playing downstairs in the toy room. When we got ready for bed Talan said that this was the best Halloween.

Carving Pumpkins

Talan waiting to carve his pumpkin. The white things hanging from our light are suppose to be ghost that Talan and I made. He thinks everyone needs to come and see the spooky ghost at our house.
Scooping out the seeds.
Making sure that all the seed are out.
Taking care on Lincoln. When Lincoln cries Talan puts his finger in his ears and says " Mom give Lincoln his paci he is driving me crazy"
Adding a second face to our Jack-O-Lantern.

Talan has been so excited to carve his pumpkin. Grandma and Grandpa Jones brought over a giant pumpkin for him to carve a few weeks ago and everyday he asks if we can put its face on. Finally on Thursday night we decided it was time to turn the pumpkin into a Jack-o-Lantern. Talan chose the face he wanted and him and dad started carving. It surprised me that he would actually pull the seeds out. After he saw Dad draw the face on he wanted to color the pumpkin. So not only does our pumpkin have a carved face, but on the back Talan drew a face. He had so much fun. He was so excited to put his jack-o-lantern on the front porch with a candle in it. I think he is going to be so sad when his pumpkin gets thrown away. Hopefully I won't have a rotting pumpkin on my porch all winter. Maybe a pumpkin fairy will come whisk it away one night.
