Reindeer Food

This year we decided to make some reindeer food. Everyone leaves cookies and milk for Santa, but what about the reindeer. The reindeer do all the work of pulling the sleigh and they must get so hungry pulling the huge load.

I found a recipe for reindeer food so Talan and I made them a delicious snack.

The recipe said that reindeer like oats and since Santa's reindeer are magical we added some special crystals.

Talan showing how you have to mix it altogether.
Talan loves to help me in the kitchen.

Our finish Magical Reindeer Food!!

I am sure that Rudolph will be thanking us tomorrow!!

Signed Santa

Santa wrote us back! Talan was so excited to get a letter in the mail.

Lincoln was also way excited to receive the letter.

We are so glad that Santa had time to write us back since he is so busy working in the shop getting ready for Christmas.

Hopefully he will show up with his sled full of toys!!!

Santa's Little Helpers

This year I told Jason that I got all the neighbor gifts ready so his job was to deliver them. So Jason and Talan  decided to take them on the 4-wheeler. Talan loves to ride on it, he was so excited to take the gifts to the neighbors

They even rigged up and bag so they didn't have to hold them.

And they are off!

Candy Canes and Reindeer

A few years ago at our ward party the kids made some fun bead candy cane decorations. So we decided to meet Brayden over and grandma C and make some new ones.

Lincoln and Jenny watching the activity.

Brayden showing off his finished product.

The boys had a fun time making the decorations. They made one for everyone in the family.

Lincoln going to go for a ride on his bike.

When we got home Talan hung his decorations on the tree in his room. He was a little bummed when he found out that Rudolph's nose didn't glow. This year for some reason Talan thinks that Rudolph's name is actually Murdock. Whenever we talk about Rudolph, Talan laughs at us and tell us that his name is Murdock. So for all of you that didn't know Santa has a new reindeer named Murdock.

The Grinch and Popcorn

I love to watch movies on cold winter nights. We decided to watch the Grinch (not the scary one).
We always have to have treat on movie night. My grandma had this old popcorn popper so we thought it would be fun to pop some.
Lincoln could not wait.
Talan and I with our bowls ready to be filled.
The first kernels flying.
The boys had so much fun catching the popcorn. Lincoln just laughed.
Talan trying to catching the popcorn before it hit the floor.
Lincoln ate so much popcorn I though he would get sick.
Talan's cup was so full. I don't think he ate any of it.
After eating all we could. Talan decided to start a popcorn war.
He was covered from head to toe in popcorn.
Lincoln throwing popcorn at Talan.
It turned out to be a huge mess, but the boys loved every moment of it.
Lincoln screaming he was having so much fun.
Cleaning up after the war. Good thing Talan is always begging to vacuum.
Lincoln untangle/tangling the cord for Talan.
Such big helpers.

Letters to Santa

Since Christmas is getting close, we thought that we better get busy and send Santa our letters.
Talan is such a good big brother, he did a letter for Lincoln. He wanted to make sure that Santa would bring something for his little brother.
Talan drew the picture of what he wanted Santa to bring him. He wants a Shaky Bridge Thomas Set and a Ramon's Paint Shop.
Lincoln cried the whole time we were trying to write our letter's. Santa might not bring the blanket and Christmas tree for his room that he asked for, he may end up with a lump of Cole.
After a bath and something to eat. Lincoln was in a better mood.
The letters that we sent to Santa. Hopefully he will write us back.

Christmas Countdown

Cutting strips of paper so we can make our count down chain.
Talan loves to use the paper trimmer, so I have to hide it or else he will shred any paper he can find.
Stapling the strips together. They have been practicing patterns in his preschool class so this was a great activity to practice patterns.
25 Days and counting.
He wanted to hang it in his room. So that he would remember to cut one off everyday.
Lincoln is thinking of all the ways that he can destroy the chain when no one is looking.

I always remebering making paper chains at Christmas time when I was little, so I thought that Talan would have fun counting down the days until Christmas. We had fun making it and by the next morning I already had to fix what Lincoln had pulled off. I guess he just wants to have Christmas arrive early.
