She's BACK!!!!!

The boys playing before we watched the video.

With Christmas fast approaching we wanted Talan to know the real meaning behind Christmas not just the gift side. So we watched a Nativity Story,

When we finished watching the video we got out our Nativity and talked about each of the people in the story. While we were getting them all set up the door bell rang,

She is back. Mrs Peeps one of Santa's elves has arrived at our house again.
Talan was not too excited to see her. But she had a message with her. It read:
Christmas is approaching, and this is the day
Santa has sent Mrs. Peeps to your house to stay.
He sent this small elf to your house and mine.
The day after Thanksgiving, She must be on time.
Mrs. Peeps has a purpose. Her purpose will be,
To whisper to Santa all the good that she sees.
Soon after she gets here, she moves only at night
To high places, low places, she stays in plain sight.
In the kitchen, for instance, she sits high on a shelf.
Mrs. Peeps can sit anywhere, for she is an elf.
She holds very still when she thinks you are watching.
Her magic is precious, it fades with each touching.
She sits on the tree on Christmas Eve day.
She knows that Santa is soon on his way.
She waits and she waits without making a noise.
She waits until Santa arrives with the toys.
So you better be nice and mind what you say
Because Mrs. Peeps will tell Santa when he comes with his sleigh.
Once Christmas is here and Santa has come,
Mrs. Peeps must leave, for her job is well done.
But, she will return next year on the very same day,
To watch your behavior as you work and play

Talan is still not sure if he likes Mrs Peeps or not.
He didn't want to get to close to her. He wanted to know how santa was going to pick her up since we don't have a fireplace. He wanted to make sure that she would be leaving.

Lincoln liked Mrs. Peeps, especially when she tickled him.

It looks like Mrs Peeps is here to stay. She found a few new friends to hang out with.

Later that night I found Talan in our bed, he didn't want to sleep in his bed until Mrs Peeps left. Hopefully he will not be tramitized for life or have some unexplain phobia of elves.

Thanksgiving 2010

This was my first year cooking Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to have Grandma and Grandpa Jones over to celebrate with us.

Talan wanted to help me decorate the table so he made some hand print turkey drawing to add to the table decore.

Me slaving away in the kitchen. Actually cooking was not that bad.

Licoln having a pre Thankgiving dinner snack.

Lately Lincoln likes to have his picture taken. Say cheese.

Talan could hardly wait for dinner. He loves to have people over for a party. Even if he kept referring to Thanksgiving as Father's Day. I guess we should be lucky that he wants to have Father's Day so often.

Me and my boys.

Can we eat yet?

The boys with Grandpa Jones or Bill as Talan calls him.

Talan snuggling with his favorite person.

Finally it was time to eat. I got everything set out and Talan asked me where his Wendy's chili was. I told him it was in the fridge. He refused to eat Thanksgiving dinner, all he wanted was his chili. Oh well, at least he ate something. Is my cooking really that bad??

Lincoln loved the mashed potatoes and dressing. He said MMM after every bite.

After dinner we played with toys.
Grandma and grandpa brought over a new game to play after dinner. So when we finished eating we played a few games of Elefun.

Jason finally getting the trunk to stay up.

Talan catching many butterflies.

Fun for the whole family.

Lincoln loved picking up all the butterflies.

The best part of the game was trying to put all the butterflies in the elephant while the fan was going.

Grandpa Bill just relaxing after dinner.

After a few games of Elefun we decide to slow down the pace and play a few hands of Uno. Talan won every time. Even though he cheats a little we still love him.

If they won't let you play, eat the box.
After the festivities at our house we headed over to Jason's mom and dads to visit with his side of the family. We enjoyed visiting with them and munching on left overs. Then in was on to the newspaper to scout out all of the Black Friday deals. When we go home I hit the Internet and got all the deals that I wanted. I love the Internet. How did anyone shop for Christmas with out it.
I really enjoyed Thanksgiving this year. I am so thankful for my family and friends. They are what makes me truely happy.

Halloween 2010

We had a fun Halloween this year. Talan wanted to be a police man but as you can see he was a fireman. After many long hours checking all the stores and online, we couldn't find a good police costume so he decided to be a fireman.

Lincoln's dressed up as a tiger. Definitely fits his personality

First Trick or Treating stop was Grandma and Grandpa Christensens. Lincoln getting some loves from Jenny.

Talan eagerly awaiting the candy.

I love when babies are starting to walk. Lincoln teetering around the room.

Talan has had fun this Halloween. His preschool class had a Halloween party and they made an advent calendar to count down the days until Halloween. Every morning the first thing Talan did was to run to the kitchen to put a sticker on the calendar.

Next stop was at Grandma and Grandpa Jones.

Lincoln attacking the candy bowl. Talan and him found a prize in the bowl. A couple of new racing cars.

Hanging out with Bill.

While we were at grandma and grandpa Jones' a giant hail storm hit. So Lincoln and I decided to stay home while Jason and Talan went Trick or Treating around the neighborhood. While they were gone we helped ourselves to a few Halloween cookies.

Talan got a goodie bag at our house. After trick or treating we went down to the Bills house to take Addy down a treat. While we were there we went to the haunted house on their street. We had a lot of fun this year, hopefully next year it won't hail.
