Hiking the Y

The other day Jason and I were going for a drive and talking about all the things that we have never done that are close by. I have never been to Timp Cave, Diamond Fork Hot Pots or hiked to the Y. So we decided that next Saturday we were going to hike to the Y. We dropped the kids off at grandma's and headed off for our adventure. We start driving toward the parking lot. As I was looking at the mountain to see how far up the Y was I noticed what appeared to be alot of people already up there. I made Jason look, he said there are always a few people up there. I tried to tell them that there were more than a few up there, but he just laughed me off.  We finally reached the road that would take us up to the Y parking lot. There were cars parked along both sides of the road as we turned the corner a herd of BYU students were walking up the road. Jason and I were laughing so hard, we could not believe that in the 30 years we have lived here the only day we decided to hike the Y so did the entire student body on BYU. Since we are not young and hip and would stick out like a sore thumb we decided to go some where else to hike. Bridal Veil Falls seemed like the next best place since we were limited on time. So off we went.

Jason at the bottom of the Falls.

I am standing on a bridge and just below me is a great place to wade if it was warmer then 60 degrees.

The falls were so pretty. I could sit and listen to the water all day.
Jason and I hiked up as far as was allowed. We were up there with another couple so we took turns snapping photos.

I have always heard of people hiking up the falls so I thought that the trail would be better than what it was. There are a few places that I was praying I would not slip and roll down the mountain. We had a good time, but I would still like to hike to the Y. Maybe next year before all the BYU students come back for school.

Maybe next time! I have never hiked it either. Funny all these awesome things in Utah we have never done.
